Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As President of IUGA, it is my honor and privilege to invite you to attend the Virtual IUGA 46th Annual Meeting, December 9-12, 2021. As the premier international association in the field of urogynecology, IUGA brings you the opportunity to learn from, and connect with, practitioners from across the globe as we work together address the pelvic floor health needs of all women.

IUGA is dedicated to the global advancement of urogynecological knowledge, and I am so happy that the virtual delivery of this year’s meeting allows us to reach a broad and diverse audience dedicated to providing exceptional care to women with pelvic floor disorders. Practitioners who do not typically have the means to travel to international meetings are now able to join us, and again this year we have scholarships available for those who need support in covering the cost of registration.

This year’s program has been developed to meet both your learning and networking needs. On the learning front, you’ll want to take advantage of the more intimate environment our workshops provide for learning and discussion. Laser application in urogynecology, diagnosis and repair of third and fourth degree perineal tears, imaging, and GSM are just some of the workshop topics included in this year’s program. Todd Ponsky will give us a peek into the future of surgical learning at one of several state of the art lectures. Our panel discussions and debates will bring forth multiple perspectives in evidence-based practice and reveal areas where more research is needed, and oral and video abstract sessions will bring visibility to the latest research findings.

Networking and connecting is always a highlight of the IUGA Annual Meeting, and those opportunities still exist even though we are not meeting in person this year! We have regional sessions – such as the Ibero-American, Pan-Asian, and African sessions – as well as Meet the Expert sessions to allow you to make connections within your region or around a specific topic of interest. Sponsored symposia highlight additional topics of interest, and as always, the Exhibit Hall provides a central hub for accessing product information and chatting with our sponsors and exhibitors. They are eager to make sure you have the tools you need to provide the best possible patient care!

IUGA was a pioneer in successfully transitioning a large-scale in-person meeting to a virtual format last year, and since then our staff have built their talents for virtual content delivery into a core competency. You will of course benefit from attending sessions in real-time with live Q&A sessions with presenters. But no matter where you live, this meeting is so accessible because all sessions will be available to registrants on-demand to watch at your convenience. You do not have to make the difficult decision of which concurrent session to attend, and you don’t have to worry that you missed an important point in a lecture, because you can rewatch sessions at a later time convenient for you!

Whether you are a first-time attendee or have been joining us for many years, I look forward to welcoming you to the Virtual IUGA 46th Annual Meeting!

Most Sincerely,

Jorge Milhem Haddad, IUGA President
