Dear IUGA Members,
Serving as your President for the last year and a half has been a true privilege. The welcoming and international nature of IUGA is always exemplified at our Annual Meeting and is something that I am truly proud of. This year, we were welcomed by former IUGA President, Dr. Jorge Milhem Haddad and his local organizing committee, to their wonderful home country of Brazil and the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro. With more than 1,000 registrants including physicians, nurses, and physiotherapists, representing more than 60 countries, this meeting clearly demonstrated the diverse and multi-disciplinary society that we have grown into over the last 51 years. We welcomed more than 20 industry partners from around the world, each helping our members and attendees to provide the best patient care. Our scientific programming involved 18 workshops, 619 presented abstracts, and 15 mini state of the art lectures, in total more than 130 hours of scientific education! Over 95 % of the respondents agreed that the educational content was scientifically sound and of value to them and that it would help them in their practice.
While there are too many names to mention individually, this conference was the culmination of hard work by more than 50 individuals. I would be remiss not to specifically thank Jorge and his co-chair Maria Bortolini, Jenny King as Program Committee Chair and the IUGA Office staff for their continued dedication and countless hours that went into creating this amazing conference. I am happy to share some of the feedback we received below.
"The congress fulfilled its objectives with outstanding professionalism and academic rigor. The presentations were clear, evidence-based, and free from bias, while maintaining a consistent structure and high educational quality across all sessions. Considering the extensive diversity of participants and speakers from around the world, the level of standardization and organization was truly commendable."
"Overall, the educational objectives were met to a very high standard, and I would like to congratulate the organizing committee on an outstanding meeting. I particularly appreciated the strong focus on women's health, the excellent scientific quality, and the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange.”
"One of the strongest aspects of the meeting was the inclusion of sessions that highlighted global efforts to improve women's access to urogynecological care, promote advocacy, and address health equity”.
On behalf of the Board, I extend my sincerest gratitude to Jorge, Maria, Jenny, the IUGA Office (Corie, Vivian, Avna, Siobhan, Madeleine, Martijn, Erik and others behind the scenes), and the entire IUGA community for your continued support and engagement. We look forward to seeing you in Boston next year!
In the meantime, please keep in touch.
With best regards,
Anna Rosamilia
